Company
History
In 1994, after long-term experience in various ranges of automation with the WIFAG Maschinenfabrik AG, Kurt Dreyer, Heinz Beutler and Hans Moser decided to found bmd as a corporation.
In the first 2 years, bmd had, among others, mandates from ABB, KBA and various big newspaper publishing houses, such as TA-Media, Basler Zeitung, Aargauer Zeitung, St. Galler Tagblatt and a big Retrofit project in Prague.
The 1990ies were characterized by other big Retrofit projects all over Europe, and in Israel, and an extension for WIFAG in India. In 1999 bmd and WIFAG signed their cooperation within the rotoclean GmbH in order to develop the first control for offset blanket washers.
In 2000, bmd had a big rotoclean mandate with Axel Springer publishers, Berlin. More well-known newspaper publishers followed, covering Europe, the USA, as well as India. Within 10 years, we could equip 1500 inking units in 40 installations for rotoclean and, from 2007 onwards, for technotrans.
In 2002 bmd and 3 partners (GAMAG, Visual-PM and BSB+Partner) founded AG Journal, which realised, together with ABB, several Retrofit projects in Haag, Seewen, Fribourg, Subingen and Delémont.
Our sons have constantly continued their studies and reached national certificates. Bruno Dreyer as a project manager and inspecting specialist, Martial Beutler as a technical trade person. With that we have the allowance by the Federal Inspectorate for Heavy Currency Installations ESTI and can issue general installation and inspection approvals6.
Since 2008 we have been working closely together with FRIAP in Ittigen, a system provider for ecological home engineering.
